The fifth edition of the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference will bring together dental industry players and healthcare professionals from 19–21 November 2027 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
The Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) will return to the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) from 19–21 November 2027 for its fifth edition. The event will bring together dentists, specialists, dental professionals, manufacturers, distributors and students to explore developments in dental technology, clinical practice and the dental business landscape.
Jointly organised by the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) and PT Nine Koeln Indonesia, IDEC 2027 will be held under the theme “Where Dental Trade Meets Dental Health Tourism – Connect. Innovate. Grow.” The theme reflects Indonesia's efforts to develop its healthcare infrastructure and professional standards to support the delivery of quality care at home. The inauguration of The Sanur Health Special Economic Zone in Bali on 25 June 2025 is part of the country's efforts to enhance domestic healthcare services, reduce reliance on overseas medical treatment and develop its position as a regional healthcare destination.
“A strong health tourism destination is built on quality facilities, skilled professionals and continuous knowledge exchange,” said Christine Hutabarat, President Director of InJourney Hospitality. “Through The Sanur, we are developing that ecosystem, and IDEC is a valuable platform to bring dental innovation to Indonesia, in line with the government's goal of providing quality healthcare at home.”
IDEC 2025 welcomed more than 200 brands and over 5,600 dental professionals, with participation from more than 11 countries and regions. For 2027, organisers are targeting 250 brands from more than 10 exhibiting countries and regions, approximately 5,000 sqm of event space and 7,000 visitors.
IDEC 2027 will connect international dental manufacturers and suppliers with Indonesia's dental community, offering opportunities to introduce new technologies, explore business partnerships and understand the needs of the local market. For dental practitioners, the event will provide access to developments in dental equipment, materials and clinical techniques, alongside opportunities for professional learning and exchange.
“Access to quality dental care remains one of our most important national challenges, and education is part of the answer,” said drg. Usman Sumantri, MSc, Chairman of the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI). “Our profession is committed to continuous learning, because patient trust is built on quality and safety, and that is the foundation of any health tourism ambition. IDEC gives our dentists a place to learn, exchange ideas and access the latest innovations.”
According to figures provided by PDGI, Indonesia has 58,154 dentists, comprising 51,970 general dentists and 6,184 specialists. With dental professionals practising across the country's many provinces, access to continuing education and new clinical technologies remains an important consideration. IDEC 2027 aims to address this through its conference programme, international speakers and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, including for practitioners outside major urban centres.
“We want IDEC to be a platform that dentists across Indonesia can access, not only those in major cities,” said Dr. drg. Himawan Halim, DMD, MS, Sp.Ort., IDEC Steering Committee Head from PDGI. “Through accessible conference participation, international speakers and CPD opportunities, we aim to bring global knowledge and innovation within reach of dentists nationwide.”
Through Koelnmesse's international dental exhibition network, IDEC also seeks to encourage greater international industry participation and develop connections between overseas suppliers and Indonesia's dental market.
“Koelnmesse's dental events around the world, including IDEM in Singapore, demonstrate the value of exhibitions as platforms for knowledge exchange as well as product showcases,” said Mr. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Regional President Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd. “With Indonesia aiming to strengthen its position in health tourism, IDEC 2027 will connect international innovators with the country's dental professionals. We look forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors from Indonesia and overseas.”
Exhibition space reservations for IDEC 2027 are now open. Trade visitor registration is scheduled to open in July 2027, followed by conference registration in September 2027. Details on registration fees and ticketing will be announced in due course.
